Every day, children in Malawi face preventable illness and hunger.
Give them hope for a healthier future. Donate Now.

Since Malawi Children's Initiative was founded, we've partnered with Kamuzu Central Hospital to transform pediatric care for thousands of children. The mortality rate has improved, more nurses are on the wards, and children are receiving life-saving treatment. But in a country where two-thirds of people live on less than $2 per day and only 43 pediatricians serve 19 million people, there's still so much more to do. Together, we can save more lives.

Your tax-deductible donation today will help create a healthier future for Malawi's children by:

-
Supporting pediatric nurses who provide critical care to 20,000 children admitted to KCH each year
-
Funding essential medical equipment and laboratory operations that enable life-saving diagnoses and treatment
-
Keeping vulnerable children in school and providing meals to families during their most difficult moments

Every gift—whether it funds a nurse's shift, a child's education, or meals for a hospital family—makes an immediate difference. Your donation supports locally-led solutions that create lasting change in healthcare, nutrition, and education across Malawi.

Power Life-Saving Healthcare
When you donate, you transform lives. Over the past 10 years, MCI has provided tens of thousands of nursing hours, supplied critical medications and equipment, and employed 14 nurses, lab technicians, nutritionists, and clinicians at Kamuzu Central Hospital. In 2019, we opened the KCH Pediatric Laboratory—now running 24/7 with over 100,000 tests annually—enabling the diagnosis and treatment of kidney failure, diabetes, liver disease, and complex infections. Your gift builds sustainable, locally-led healthcare systems that save lives today and for generations to come. Donate now.

Build Pathways to Brighter Futures
When you donate, you open doors. In 2018, MCI built Dzama Orphan School in partnership with UNC Project, bringing education to over 100 children orphaned by HIV in a village where no schooling beyond 4th grade previously existed. Over 8 years, we've supported more than 150 students through scholarships, currently funding 37 primary and secondary students. We also support 27 university and post-graduate students pursuing healthcare degrees—prioritizing orphaned children, those living with HIV, and families of KCH and MCI employees. Your gift doesn't just keep a child in school today—it creates doctors, nurses, and leaders who will transform Malawi's future. Donate now.

Feed Hope During the Hardest Times
When you donate, you provide critical nourishment. For five years, MCI supported the Nutritional Rehabilitation Unit by employing a Clinical Officer, 5 nutritionists, and 2 nurses, while providing essential supplies like heaters and blankets for vulnerable children. For 8 years, we've provided daily meals to caregivers at KCH—parents and guardians who must stay by their sick children's bedsides but have no way to feed themselves. Your gift ensures that families facing medical crises don't have to choose between caring for their child and eating. Donate now.
